Dandeli is a beautiful place in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, India, which is located in the western ghats region. It is the city/hill station of economic migrants from all over the world particularly from the north and south states of India like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and other parts of the Karnataka.
The formal and general languages used for communication is Kannada. Dandeli is the natural habitat for many wildlife like tigers, leopards, black panthers, elephants, deer, antelopes, gaur, bears and many others. This place had chosen as the tiger reserve in 2007 and it is known for the second biggest wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka.
Dandeli jungle is the place for many reptiles and more than 300 varieties of birds reside. When you study the population of Dandeli in the 1930s was 515 and they used to work in the forest department and government sawmills...!
